To strengthen our Pharmaceutical Development team at our headquarter in Mendrisio (Switzerland), we are currently looking for a R&D Laboratory Analyst (fulltime position).

  • Development and validation of chemical analytical methods
  • Pharmaceutical development and fine tuning of drug formulations
  • Performance of analytical activities related to Pharmaceutical Development projects
  • Collaboration with Quality Control Laboratory to finalize common analysis, studies and project Management of the analytical instruments and related periodical requalification in collaboration with an external supplier
  • Preparation of analytical protocols and related final reports
  • Writing and maintenance of the SOPs that describe laboratory activities and responsibilities
  • Identification and interpretation of regulations and guidelines issued by applicable regulatory agencies and other regulatory organizations
  • Improvement of laboratory knowhow and related EU/US/Global regulations intelligence by attending courses, seminars and meetings
  • Perform other duties as directed

Position Description
The R&D Laboratory Analyst will perform experiments and analysis related to pharmaceutical development projects. He/She will operate under the direct coordination of the Pharmaceutical Development Corporate Manager and in collaboration with the colleagues working within the R&D Laboratory team and within the Pharmaceutical Development Department which the R&D Laboratory is part of.

Qualification and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Science)
  • + 2-3 years’ experience in chemical laboratory
  • Knowledge of principal analytical instruments as HPLC, GC-MS, UV, IR
  • Knowledge of EU/US/Swiss guidelines related to the technical subjects concerning laboratory activities
  • Good English communication and writing skills
  • The knowledge of French would be an asset
  • Able to work independently and to complete assigned tasks within established deadlines
  • Able to work in a team
  • Strong attention to details
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
